Cortland’s Winterberg earns second NWGC Player of the Week award
SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland sophomore Claudia Winterberg (Harrisburg, NC/Hickory Ridge) has been selected the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Wednesday, Sept. 21, for events held Sept. 12-18.
Winterberg tied for 13th out of 34 golfers at the NYU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday September 17-18 at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains, N.J.
The righty's two-day score of 157 included a five-over-par 76 on Sunday with three birdies and nine pars, along with an 81 on Saturday with nine pars and a birdie.
Winterberg helped Cortland finish third out of six teams at the tournament.
