Cortland’s Wiggins claims third NWGC Rookie of the Week award

SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland freshman Sarah Wiggins (Carson City, NV/Carson) has been named the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Rookie of the Week.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Wednesday, Sept. 28, for events held Sept. 19-25.

Wiggins, as an individual entry, tied for 46^th place out of 60 golfers at the Williams College Championship held on Sept. 24-25 at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass.

She opened with an 87 on Saturday and had an 82 on Sunday for a two-day total of 169.

The tournament featured seven schools that are either nationally ranked in Division III or also receiving votes in the poll.
