Cortland’s Wiggins earns fourth NWGC Rookie of the Week honor

SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland freshman Sarah Wiggins (Carson City, NV/Carson) has been named the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Wednesday, Oct. 5, for events held Sept. 26 – Oct. 2.

Wiggins competed in a pair of 18-hole events at the McGregor Links Country Club in Winton, N.Y., on Oct. 1-2. The Par 72 course covered 5615 yards each day.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, Wiggins shot an 87 to take fifth overall at the NWGC Fall Classic. On Sunday, Oct. 2, she fired a 96 to finish 11^th overall on a cool blustery day during the NWGC Fall Invitational.

Her top finishes helped lead Cortland to a pair of team championships over the weekend.
