Cortland’s Gina Milazzo named first NWGC Player of the Week of 2024-25

SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland freshman Gina Milazzo (Greenwood Lake, NY/Warwick Valley) has been selected the first Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player of the Week for the 2024-25 season.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Wednesday, Sept. 11, for events held Aug. 31 - Sept. 8.

Milazzo tied a school single-round record with a 71 and posted the second-best two-day score in program history with a 146 to earn medalist honors at the Ithaca Invitational Sept. 7-8.

Her opening round of 75 on the par-72 layout at the RaNick Golf Club in Ithaca included a birdie and 13 pars, and her 71 on the second day featured five birdies and nine pars. A total of 33 golfers competed.

The previous weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, Milazzo finished second out of 39 golfers at the St. Lawrence Invitational with a two-day score of 155. She carded a 79 on the par-72 Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course on the first day and followed that with a 76, the best of any golfer during the second round.
