Suffolk’s Krisna Mahendran selected NWGC Player of the Week

SYRACUSE, NY – Suffolk freshman Krisna Mahendran (Katy, TX/Seven Lakes) has been selected the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player of the Week.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Monday, Sept. 30, for events held Sept. 23-29. She was named the NWGC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 11.

Mahendran won the individual title at the Keene State Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Keene Country Club in Keene, N.H. She posted a six-over-par 78 to finish eight strokes ahead of the runner-up at the event.

Mahendran also forged a collegiate personal-best 18-hole score in leading the Rams to a team victory with a round of 341. Suffolk finished 53 over par – 21 strokes ahead of runner-up Nichols (362).
