Cortland’s Kara Dumas named NWGC Player of the Week
SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland senior Kara Dumas (Jefferson, NY/Gilboa-Conesville) has been selected the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player of the Week.
The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for events held Sept. 22-28.
Dumas posted a two-day score of 169, including a career-best 81 during the opening day at the Williams College Invitational on Sept. 27-28. The tournament was held at the 5,826-yard, par-71 Taconic Golf Club.
Dumas' opening round featured nine pars and a birdie allowing her to tie for 72nd place out of 98 golfers while finishing second among Red Dragon participants.
The event featured eight nationally-ranked NCAA Division III teams along with four other schools that are receiving votes in the latest national poll.
