Cortland’s Gina Milazzo claims another NWGC Player of the Week

SYRACUSE, NY – Cortland sophomore Gina Milazzo (Greenwood Lake, NY/Warwick Valley) has been selected the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player of the Week.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for events held Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

Milazzo tied for fourth place out of 51 golfers at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5, at the Rome Country Club.

She recorded a four-over par 76 on the 5,683-yard course Saturday that featured a pair of birdies and a dozen 12 pars. On Sunday she carded a 77 with two birdies and 10 pars.

Milazzo finished just two strokes behind the tournament medalist as the top 13 golfers in the field were separated by just five strokes. Cortland finished in seventh place in the nine-team field.
